Dr. Richard Weissbourd at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education has done some fascinating research on the caring deficit among young people and how that deficit relates to the absence of meaning and purpose in many young lives. This, of course, contributes to depression, loneliness, and other forms of psychological pain. He has started an initiative called Make Caring Common.
