New Course on Whole Child Education

This summer an institute will be offered at Molloy College on Long Island, New

York, on educating the whole child. An intensive four-day experience, the course

can be taken for in-service or graduate credits by teachers and principals, or for

no credit by parents. The course will explore whole child education at the

elementary and middle school levels. It will also provide hands-on examples of

how the principles are applied in English, social studies, math, and science.

Participants will learn, for example, how math can be taught through movement

and how English can be taught through dramatic activities. This institute will be

taught by the Co-Directors of ETWC—Tom McGuire, Howard Katzoff, and

Christopher Nye.
